The Center for Cave and Karst Studies provides assistance to individuals, government agencies and private firms regarding karst environmental problems. Below are some of the types of projects in which the Center participates:
(1) Investigation of sinkhole flooding/collapse
(2) Examination of groundwater contamination
(3) Analysis of toxic and explosive fumes rising into homes
(4) Workshops to professional groups, clubs and schools
(5) Investigations and reports using
Scintrex Microgravity and Electrical Resistivity
and Cave Radiolocation Technology
Use of Dye Tracing for the following:
(1) Determining groundwater flow
(2) Delineation of groundwater basins
(3) Wellhead and springhead protection
(4) Dye analysis using Synchronous Scanning Spectrofluophotometer
